Amanda Holden and Dermot O'Leary have joined Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to urge the public to adopt rescue animals.

Britain's Got Talent star Amanda, who has been a Battersea Ambassador for five years, and X Factor host Dermot, who rehomed a Battersea kitten earlier this year, encouraged those searching for a new pet to adopt a dog or cat in need.

Poor Staffie has had the Max bad luck

Three-year-old Staffie is neglected by owners, suffers allergies, injures knee and then diagnosed with arthritis.

Hands up if you’d like a new home? Max certainly would!

Because Max isn’t just unlucky in love, he seems to be unlucky in life. The poor pooch has had a really ruff year but he’s hoping his luck will soon change - starting with a new home of his own!

The three-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier arrived at the RSPCA’s Blackberry Farm Animal Centre in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, over a year ago - on 9 March 2017.

Lurcher daffofil is as lonely as a cloud

As the flowers bloom, Battersea Old Windsor’s Daffodil is hoping the warmer weather will bring her a garden of their very own.

Named in honour of the spring, today marks a year since two-year-old Lurcher Daffodil arrived at Old Windsor’s gates as a stray.

Daffodil was brought into the charity by a local dog warden, after she was found her wandering in the fields near Wraysbury, frightened and alone. Now, as her namesake flower begin to bloom again, Daffodil still finds herself without a family.

Duke is learning to love life - including baths!

Duke was terrified of everything when he arrived at the RSPCA’s centre in Cambridgeshire - but he’s starting to learn that not everything is so scary!

A collie who was so terrified of water that he had to be cleaned using dry shampoo for two months has finally had his first proper bath - and even enjoyed it!

Six-year-old tricolour border collie Duke was taken in by the RSPCA’s Block Fen Animal Centre, in Cambridgeshire, in February.

Stormy captured the hearts of dog-lovers across the country - but one lady just couldn’t get him out of her mind…

A 19-year-old terrier - the oldest the RSPCA has ever taken in to rehome - has found his paw-fect match with a retired widow from Coventry.

Stormy was rescued by RSPCA inspector Herchy Boal earlier this month after he was spotted collapsed in a snowy garden in temperatures as low as -3C.

The animal welfare charity received an anonymous call on 2 March and inspector Boal was extremely concerned for the terrier - who is 92 in dog years!
