Battersea golden oldie dog has been searching for a home for 100 days

A ten-year-old Collie named Marley has been in the care of Battersea for 100 days, but so far no one has stepped forward to give him a home to call his own.

Marley’s owners brought him into Battersea when a change in circumstances meant that they were no longer able to look after him. Despite being at the rehoming charity for nearly three times the average stay (34 days), he has struggled to find a retirement home; something that staff suspect may be due to his age.

'Young Pup' hopes for first best friend on International Dog Day


You’ve heard of puppy love, well one young rescue dog is hoping that someone will want to be his first ever best friend this International Dog Day (26 August), after being in the care of Battersea for 170 days.

One-year-old Bull Mastiff, Bruce, came into Battersea’s Brands Hatch centre in March after being found abandoned as a stray, but so far he has struggled to find a home due to his overexcitable and puppy-like nature; which is no mean feat given his already impressive size.

Move over Romeo and Juliet, step aside Bey and Jay, make way Harry and Meghan, there’s a new love story unfolding now. Meet TJ and Coral, a pair of rescue dogs who first crossed paths when they were both brought to Battersea’s Old Windsor centre at the start of the year, where they proceeded to fall in love. The striking couple have become so inseparable that staff at the leading recue charity are now searching for a loving home for them to go to together.
