Washing basket of puppies dumped at RSPCA hospital open day

RSPCA Putney Animal Hospital threw open its doors to the public on Sunday (1 September) and welcomed lots of visitors throughout the day. But as staff were clearing up at the end of the day, a man brought in a plastic washing basket of puppies.

Joanne Elmes, who works at the hospital, said: “The man said he’d found them outside but ran off before we could take any details from him.

Dachshund 'used for breeding' found abandoned alone in alleyway

Breeding bitch was still lactating when she was found alone in the middle of the night

A breeding bitch was found dumped alone in an alley in the middle - still lactating milk for her absent puppies.

Dachshund Dolly - as she’s been named by her rescuers - was found by a member of the public at around 3am on Monday (19 August) in an alley off Wymington High Street, Northamptonshire.

She’d been left in a small, metal dog crate with a red fleece blanket and a water bowl.

Abandoned puppies have new names and new homes

Pippin and Perdy were dumped out of a carrier bag and into a garden in the middle of a cold, wet night.

Two tiny puppies were almost completely bald when they were rescued by the RSPCA having been dumped in the middle of the night in a garden in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

The pups were in such a terrible condition that it was difficult for staff to tell how old they were or what breed they were.

Puppies survive being dumped in a bucket

Here’s a “pupdate” on the six tiny Lurcher puppies who were dumped in a bucket late in 2016. The tiny, five week old pups were dumped on a doorstep a few days before Christmas 2016. Due to the timing of their discovery, the youngsters were named after Santa’s reindeer, after being taken to the RSPCA.

The litter of puppies are recovering from their ordeal, although one puppy – Dasher - very sadly died of parvo within a few days of being rescued. The surviving puppies are doing very well, thankfully.

Six tiny Lurcher puppies were dumped in a bucket late in 2016, and taken in by the RSPCA.

Neglected pug dumped in the dark by the side of the road

Petunia was found collapsed in the road in north-west London

The RSPCA has appealed for information after a pug was found collapsed and dumped in a north-west London street riddled with infection.

Petunia - as she was later named by RSPCA staff - was found abandoned in Links Road, Cricklewood, at around 11pm on Friday 18 March. She was curled up in blanket with her head down.
