Oh my gosh! Just watched this advert, and it actually made me cry! What a beautiful face this dog has. Perhaps I need to get out more, but it really got to me. Glad he found the answer. I'm off to cuddle Buddy.

Battersea volunteers help to chip 343 dogs in the community, supported by the People’s Postcode Lottery

Across the week in which the new compulsory microchipping law came into force – stating all dogs in England, Scotland and Wales must be chipped with up to date details by 6 April – Battersea Dogs & Cats Home chipped 343 dogs in local communities across London. The charity’s Community Engagement volunteers worked alongside staff to carry out this vital work, as part of the Home’s volunteering and fostering programme supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Elderly rescue dog reunited with worried owners thanks to microchip

Fifteen-year-old Maggie went on a little adventure before the RSPCA returned her home.

The owner of a collie-cross who wandered off during a walk has urged all pet owners to get their beloved animals microchipped.

Amanda Devlin’s mother was walking 15-year-old Maggie (pictured left) in Barnet, where she lives, when the crossbreed disappeared on 24 March, prompting 48 hours of frantic searching and worrying.

ITV star Paul O’Grady supports compulsory microchipping as new law comes into force

On the day the new microchipping law comes into force, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Ambassador Paul O’Grady is urging pet owners to microchip their dogs, after new Battersea research reveals only one in five lost dogs have an up to date chip, making many stray dogs’ chances of being reunited with their owners less likely.

Worrying figures from Local Authorities showed in Battersea’s new report Microchipping Where it Matters Most, the vast majority of stray dogs (80%) either don’t have microchips, or the chips are rendered useless because of out of date contact details.

Bella finally found 110 miles from home after four months missing

The spaniel was reunited with her ecstatic family after she was stolen exactly four months earlier

A beloved pet dog who was stolen from outside a supermarket has finally been reunited with her family four months after disappearing.

Four-year-old springer spaniel Bella went missing from Northampton on 20 October and was found more than 110 miles away - in Bristol.

The black and white dog wandered into a shop in Bristol on 10 February - four months after disappearing from outside a shop.

The four gentle giants came into RSPCA care as part of a cruelty case after they were discovered in terrible conditions on a farm last year.

Neglected pug dumped in the dark by the side of the road

Petunia was found collapsed in the road in north-west London

The RSPCA has appealed for information after a pug was found collapsed and dumped in a north-west London street riddled with infection.

Petunia - as she was later named by RSPCA staff - was found abandoned in Links Road, Cricklewood, at around 11pm on Friday 18 March. She was curled up in blanket with her head down.
