Charities celebrate as the bill for tougher animal welfare sentences completes Commons stage

The Animal Welfare (Sentencing) Bill passed its Third Reading today, and will now go to the House of Lords. Animal charities welcomed this development, and urged speed in passing this Bill into law in order to protect animals as soon as possible.

Battersea has today (12 March) welcomed progress towards strengthening sentences for animal abusers after a long-awaited change in legislation completed its passage through the House of Commons.

The RSPCA is celebrating after the long-awaited Animal Welfare (Sentencing) Bill completed all stages in the House of Commons today (Friday 12 March) and now moves forward to the House of Lords.

Latest episode of The Dog Rescuers features the story of puppy Lola who needed urgent vet care for broken limbs

A 12-week-old puppy that was signed in to RSPCA care after she suffered two broken legs is set to star in tomorrow night’s (Wednesday 16 September) episode of The Dog Rescuers.

Viewers of the popular 5 Select show will see Lola come into RSPCA care after vets alerted inspectors to the puppy’s plight.

RSPCA appeals for information after dog found in 'shocking state'

The animal welfare charity is now investigating.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a stray Staffie cross was found in a shocking state in Bolton.

The charity was called on Sunday 16 August when the dog was spotted by a member of the public with a large lump on her stomach which was dragging on the floor and bleeding.

She also had chronic eye issues and her nails had grown through her paw pads and out of the other side.
