A lovable ‘ladies’ man’ who has been waiting to find a new home for more than eight months has seen three of his girlfriends trot off to their forever families and is hoping it’ll be his turn next.

Max, who is almost two, has been at the RSPCA’s Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District branch since last year and is desperate to find his paw-fect match.

Eleven-month-old St Bernard Odin weighs more 62kg - the same as a cougar! - and stands at 1m tall, towering over his friends at RSPCA Bath Cats and Dogs Home.

Despite his size and stature, he’s a very shy boy who can be nervous around new people and finds men particularly scary.

Help dogs adjust to Covid-19 face masks

More and more people are wearing masks out in public and, with new rules in place for certain public spaces, the RSPCA is offering dog owners tips on how to get their pets used to these new face coverings.

Since 15 June, in England, everyone travelling on public transport must wear a face covering and, in Wales, a three-layer covering is recommended where physical distancing is not possible.
