RSPCA reveals beautiful brindles spend 50 per cent longer looking for a home

Our loving brindle dogs spend an average of 65 days looking for a furever family.

Over the last three years it has taken the RSPCA on average 41 days to find loving new homes for the dogs in our care - for brindle dogs this figure is 65 days.

Black and white dogs are the most frequently seen dogs in the RSPCA’s care and take on average 37 days to rehome, black and tan dogs come in second and take an average of 40 days to rehome and brindle dogs are third but take 65 days to find their new homes.

The Year of 52 Rescues

I've just discovered a wonderful idea that artist Elizabeth Ellis has
come up with. She's called it The Year of 52 Rescues, and throughout
2015 she'll be painting a picture of one adoptable animal who is
currently in a shelter. The hope is that this will help the animal find
a home, and will also shine a light on the plight of animals waiting
for their forever home.

‘Leftover Christmas present puppies’ dumped at Battersea on New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve five puppies were heartlessly dumped outside Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s centre at Old Windsor, Berkshire, and staff fear they may have been bred as Christmas presents but failed to sell. With no food or water and filthy coats, the 12 week old English Bull Terrier cross puppies were trapped inside a small box and were very scared and cold.
