The top five dog names have been revealed - and the RSPCA is hoping it’ll help these paw-fect rescue pooches find their fur-ever homes!

The Pets At Home Pet Name Finder has revealed the most popular dog names are Alfie, Bella, Charlie, Lola and Poppy. The RSPCA is hoping prospective dog owners might consider giving a rescue dog with one of these popular monikers a loving new home.

English bull terrier Alfie is much more active and energetic than his older namesake. The eight-year-old is very sociable and loves going on walks and training. He’d like a new home with a garden to run in and would be happy living in a family with older children and another dog. MORBIDLY OBESE RESCUE DOG’S BID TO LOSE WEIGHT

A morbidly obese rescue dog in Scotland is on a mission to lose almost half his body weight.

When Alfie, an eight-year-old Collie cross, was brought in to Dogs Trust Glasgow rehoming centre six weeks ago he weighed in at an incredible 41kg (6.45st), around the same weight as a twelve year old child.
