RSPCA seeks dog’s owner after rescuing stricken pooch from gate

The animal welfare charity is keen to trace the Labrador’s owners after freeing her from a tight spot.

RSPCA officers are appealing to the public to help them track down the owner of a dog who needed rescuing this week after getting stuck in a metal gate in Kent.

The animal welfare charity was contacted in the early hours of Thursday morning (31 May) by a woman who found the dog trapped between the metal bars of her garden gate.

Can you help identify this dog?


Incident happened at 6.30am yesterday morning in Pallion, in a street in Sunderland, Tyne And Wear.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was seen being hit with a chain lead in a Sunderland street yesterday morning (Wednesday 3 January).

The dog - a female German shepherd-husky cross called ‘Delilah’ - slipped her lead during the incident at around 6.30am on Percival Street, Pallion and ran into a nearby garden.

The dog’s attacker ran away. She in now in RSPCA care.

Urgent appeal for donations for surgery to let Paris walk


Rottweiler needs vital surgery to ease the pain she’s been living with for years.

The RSPCA has launched a special fundraising appeal to pay for emergency surgery for a rottweiler who has been living in “excruciating pain” for most of her short life.

Two-year-old Paris arrived at the RSPCA’s Essex South, Southend & District branch in September when her owners could no longer provide her with the care she needed.

The rottweiler - who the family had bought from an Essex breeder - was in a lot of pain and discomfort, and appeared lame.

Could you foster for Battersea?


Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is today putting out an appeal to residents in Berkshire to encourage more foster carers to come forward and help provide a temporary home for some of the most vulnerable dogs and cats at its Berkshire centre.

Battersea often seeks foster carers who can provide a safe and calm environment for cats, including pregnant mums and kittens, and temporary care for dogs most in need of a break from kennel life.

Almost a third* of the dogs currently at Dogs Trust Merseyside are classed as ‘sticky’, meaning they have been in kennels for six months or more waiting to find a new home. The rehoming centre is making an appeal on behalf of two of its stickies, Dream & Dinky, to see if they can be ‘unstuck’!
