Battersea Dogs GO – Gotta Catch ‘em all

Pokémon GO is taking the nation by storm, with players roaming the streets and parks in their quest to catch em’ all, and now Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is the latest to join in with the craze. Battersea dogs Ria and Abbey were joined on their morning walk in Battersea Park today by some slightly unusual companions – including Drowzee, Oddish, Psyduck, and Pidgey, all characters from the augmented reality game Pokémon GO.

Greyhound Ria and Staffordshire Bull Terrier Abbey – both 6 years old – have been at Battersea awaiting new homes since April. Rehoming and Welfare Assistant Danielle Hopkins commented “We decided to take Ria and Abbey Pokémon hunting as they have such great temperaments and get on well with other dogs and people. As we expected, it turns out they are very friendly with Pokémon too!”
Volunteer dog walkers Nicola Noakes and Tracey Morgan were on hand to walk Abbey and Ria, while Pokémon Trainers turned their attention to trying to catch ‘em all.
