New competition - Britain's Smartest Dog

Now obviously I know that I live with Britain's smartest dog, but for some reason the folk at The Company of Animals aren't aware of that and are launching a competition to find the smartest dog. It may be that you also think you live with a pretty smart dog, so if you fancy entering the competition, the details are below. I've seen the Nina Ottosson games, and would love to see how Buddy and Star cope with them, so maybe we'll bump into you at the pet shop.

Do you live with Britain’s Smartest Dog?

The Company of Animals has teamed up with Jollyes Petfood Superstores in its nationwide search to find Britain’s Smartest Dog.

The competition will run in 11 Jollyes stores on Saturday 2nd May and dog owners can just turn up and enroll on the day.

To find the nation’s cleverest canine, the challenge will involve the interactive dog games designed by Nina Ottosson. These games are the Scrabble and Chess of the dog world and really push a dog’s intelligence and problem-solving skills to the limit.

TV pet psychologist and founder of Company of Animals, Dr Roger Mugford, said, “Nina Ottosson interactive games are simply some of the greatest dog toys ever invented as they actually strengthen the relationship between dog and owner. They also increase dogs’ confidence by stretching their minds, encouraging them to learn and bringing out the best in them. I’m very excited about the search for Britain’s Smartest Dog in what is the first national competition of its kind.”

Director of Jollyes Petfood Superstores, John Pullen, comments: “We are delighted to be involved in Britain’s Smartest Dog and also working with The Company of Animals who are consistently bringing out interesting and unique products. We have always had a great relationship with our customers and their pets and this should be great fun for everyone involved.”

If you think your dog’s got what it takes to outsmart every other dog in the country, or just want to get involved in a fun doggie challenge, get down to your nearest Jollyes Petfood Superstore on Saturday 2nd May to put his brains to the test. The overall winner will go away with a superb Nina Ottosson prize as well as the highly coveted title of Britain’s Smartest Dog.

The stores participating in the Britain’s Smartest Dog challenge are: Bristol, Chippenham, Congleton, Glengormley, Gloucester, Halifax, High Wycombe, Kings Lynn, Selby, Sheffield and Stevenage.
