Would you like to get – or stay – fitter, and raise money for a great cause at the same time? If so, do think about entering the Run Hackney Half Marathon and getting sponsorship to raise funds for the Mayhew Animal Home. Run Hackney has been running for 4 years now and has attracted growing support. It’s now established as one of the top ten half marathons in the UK. It takes place at Hackney Marshes in London, is flat and fast paced, the route is lined with supporters, and live entertainers offer distraction to runner.

Prince’s pawtrait raising money for The Mayhew Animal Home

The Mayhew Animal Home is celebrating the fact that one of its longest stay residents has finally found a forever home. Poor Prince had spent almost a year – 330 days – at the home before he found his happily ever after.

Prince, an American Akita, left an impression on the home though, and even has his own “pawtrait” to commemorate his time there. That painting is now being auctioned to raise money to support The Mayhew’s vital work rescuing animals in need.

Celebs and their canine companions gather to support The Mayhew

On Tuesday night at The Grand Connaught Rooms in London, The Mayhew Animal Home’s Tinsel and Tails Christmas Fundraiser had plenty of glitz, glamour and of course gorgeous dogs.

James McVey from The Vamps and Stephanie Pratt were among the celebrities and their canine companions, who attended the star-studded event which honoured some of the incredible achievements The Mayhew has accomplished in 2016. The evening also aimed to raise money to ensure the charity’s vital work continues in future.
