Star and her teddy!

Star sleeping in luxury - on a blanket, snuggled up to a teddy. This was not posed, I just found her like this and couldn't resist recording the moment. What a cutie!

Buddy geocaching

Geocaching and dog walking - the perfect match!

A child's best friend

I spotted this child and dog looking out of a window and couldn't resist taking a quick photo. I love the way they are just sharing a quiet moment, and I love the sense of companionship conveyed.

Polly in the garden scene.

Polly is a year and a half old Italian Spinone. She loves to walk in the mountains in Scotland where she will chase a pheasant if she spots one. She loves squeaky stuffed toys and she eats absolutely anything!

Oscar rehearses the car scene. (dog nearest camera)

Oscar is about seven, but his age is uncertain as he was rescue dog. This black Lab was so well behaved his owners got back in touch with the shelter to check he really wasn’t claimed! He doesn’t bark and passed his Gold Good Citizen award – within a year of being rescued. He has a healthy Lab appetite – and loves chocolate if he can get his paws on it!

Timmy waiting patiently at rehearsals.

Timmy is a one year old German Spitz Klein. He is the youngest and smallest dog on the team. He likes to walk anywhere with big gundogs, which he thinks he is because he lives with thirteen other dogs! He’s not a fussy eater so will eat pretty much anything.

Buddy in the car scene. (dog on right)

Buddy is a Black Labrador who s seven years old and enjoying his second time in the Safe and Sound team. He likes chasing a tennis ball. His favourite place is on the beach where he enjoys paddling in sea but won’t swim! He adores cheese and has recently discovered cat food is yummy too!

Spike during rehearsals.

Spike is an over-the-top Border Terrier who has lots of energy despite being eight years old. He lives with four other dogs, all female Border Terriers, but he’s the leader of the pack! He is extremely patient with puppies, he loves going anywhere with owner Julia but seems to be on a mission to destroy all toys he comes into contact with.

Rufus enjoying some grooming.

Three year old Border Terrier Rufus lives with a German Shepherd and a Golden Retriever, with whom he loves to play in their large garden. He prefers to get some off lead running on walks, and relishes being out in grass having a good sniff around. He likes most food, but can be fussy about dog food. He’s easy going to live with.

Ross demonstrates the knockover scene.

Ross is a nine year old Tervuren Belgian Shepherd. He relishes his one and a half hour walk each morning, where he expend some of his energy. He has been taking part in the Safe and Sound displays for the last five years. He’s also participated in other canine disciplines such as showing and obedience.
