Double Merle Deaf Blind Dogs

Deb Bauer lives with several deaf blind dogs, and supports them as they live their best life. As a Holistic Dog Trainer and Animal Wellness Practitioner, she knows that we can comfort our dogs without compromising them or our relationship with them.

It was Deb's post on Facebook which made host Julie want to interview her about her approach to her dogs:

"This sweet girl has been raised knowing that I will respond when she asks for something. While some people think this might result in her being a pest and becoming demanding, it actually has not. She is content and self confident. She feels comfortable expressing her needs, and I help her to learn appropriate ways to that.

"She wanted a nap but was having a hard time settling down, which can be common for adolescent puppies. She came and asked me to pick her up. She knew a cuddle would help her feel better. A bit of TTouch helped remind her that we don't mouth my hands when we're tired and helped her relax.

"She fell asleep on my shoulder, which made it hard to take a picture. I held her for a bit, and then set her down in her bed where she snuggled in for a nap."
