Three-year-old Aska is very shy and is finding it hard to win over potential adopters
Aska has spent more than eight months in kennels and RSPCA staff have unearthed her sweet, playful nature.
But this pooch is finding it difficult to win over potential adopters as she’s so shy.
Three-year-old Aska is being looked after by staff at York Animal Home. She was handed in when her previous owner could no longer take care of her.
She’s now been patiently waiting for more than eight months and has seen more than 150 dogs go to their forever homes while she’s been waiting.
A spokesperson said: “Aska is a lovely, sweet girl but can be terribly shy around new people which means she’s finding it difficult to show off her wonderful personality in kennels.
“She’s very active and playful once she comes out of her shell. She just needs an understanding owner who will give her time and patience to settle and grow in confidence, and will benefit from lots of exercise and stimulation.
“She’s never been taught that it’s okay to be left home alone so she’ll initially like someone to be home alone and to slowly build her confidence.”
Aska is very clever and knows lots of commands like ‘sit’. She’d be best suited to an adult-only household and would prefer a home without a cat but could live with another dog.
