When Meredith and her wife Jenn adopt Edie, a sweet golden retriever puppy, they find themselves becoming late-bloomer parents, doting over her as if she were flesh and blood. But it isn’t long after Edie joins the family that the problems begin.
Although Edie is not their first dog, she’s the first puppy they’ve raised together and she’s an unusually anxious dog. Soon, Edie’s fears become so intense that Meredith and Jenn can’t leave the house. Is this normal puppy behavior or something more? Meredith grows determined to fix Edie, trying everything from CBD gummies to visiting a dog medium; stopping at nothing to try and save her dog. But what if Edie can’t be fixed? And, what if Edie isn’t the one who needs saving? With each obstacle Meredith faces and overcomes with Edie, another layer of self-doubt is shed as she realizes she’s not her parents and is capable of the selflessness and unconditional love Edie needs.
