Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson

Jeffrey Masson believes that animals may have a higher EQ - emotional intelligence - than humans. In this fascinating interview, he talks about many or his theories and experiences, and the animals he has loved. This conversation encompasses and celebrates many aspects of animals and pets.

You can find out more about Jeff at his website and his Facebook page.

There's so many things we acknowledge that animals can do that we can't, why is it so upsetting to think maybe they have certain emotions that are more powerful than our own?

Help! My Dog is Scared of the Vet

It's miserable for both pet and owner when a dog is scared of the vet. It's a very common problem, and the good news is that there are lots of simple steps you can take to help your dog. In this interview, behaviourist Toni Shelbourne talks about why the issue is so important to tackle, and how you can make positive associations for your dog with the vet - starting off at home!

You can find out more about Toni at her website and about Help! My Dog is Scared of the Vet and Toni's other books at Skinny Books or at Amazon.

Another thing you can do is get something that smells of the vet, put that in an airtight container, and every time you feed them dinner, just open it, let them sniff and feed them their dinner. So you start to build that positive association of the vet without having to be at the vet's.
