Monkey's House

Jeff and Michele Allen have opened their home and their hearts to dogs who are terminally ill. They run Monkey's House, a dog hospice and sanctuary where dogs go to live. And they live joyfully, with love lavished on them, and their physical and emotional needs met.

You can find out more about Monkey's House at their website and Facebook page.

One of our aunts said, 'It's the happiest place on earth - move over Disney!' We have very, very sad times, but 95 plus percent of the time it's extremely happy!
 - Jeff Allen

Separation Anxiety

Separation anxiety can become a huge problem - for you, for your neighbours, and worst of all for your dog. It's horrible for anyone to think that their dog is unhappy when left without them at home, and in this podcast, Eye2Eye dog trainer and Beco ambassador Bryony Cole talks about what anxiety is, how it can be treated, and how it can be avoided.

It depends on each dog, because every dog is different just like people are, but sometimes it's useful to put things in place to prepare the dog for leaving, so they've got the structure, and they're not floating around in the unknown.
 - Bryony Cole

Beco founder George Bramble talks about his experiences with his Labrador, Tarka, and the distraction toys Beco makes. Like all Beco products, the toys are environmentally friendly in keeping with the company motto, "Love your dog, love our planet."

Love your dog, love our planet.
 - George Bramble

DogCast Radio News

As usual, Julie and Jenny bring you all the dog themed news you might otherwise have missed. So we have the perfectly preserved wolf cub recently unearthed from the ice in Canada, and staying with the frozen theme, Ben & Jerry's have two new flavours especially for dogs. Plus we hear why masks are not a good idea for dogs, and which words dogs react to most. Bunny the Sheepadoodle is "talking" to her owner via word buttons - and you join in a study into this phenomenon with your pet at the They Can Talk website - and we finish with the story of the dog with dyed ears.
