Make your dog happy with Karen London

How can we make our dogs as happy as possible? That's the subject Karen London addresses in this interview - and some of her suggestions may never have occurred to you.

As well as having a PhD, Karen is a Certified Applied Behaviourist and Certified Professional Dog Trainer who specializes in working with dogs with serious behavioural problems, including aggression.

Karen writes for The Bark and has authored five books on canine training and behaviour which can be found at the Dogwise website.

I think one if the ways to make almost all dogs happy is to give them a chance to really sniff - to go on what we call a sniffari, instead of just a walk let them go where they want to go as long as they're not walking into traffic!
 - Karen London

Nosey Barker

Kim Kaye founded Nosey Barker which offers a wide range of dog classes and care. Both Kim and her husband are qualified trainers, and Kim is a qualified behaviourist as well. To help people and dogs get more out of their walks, Kim is making her Wonder Walks program.

You can find out more and access the online resources at the Nosey Barker website. You can also find Nosey Barker on Facebook.

Nosey Barker is quite a holistic service we provide care as early as puppy pop-ins, we do Kennel Club classes from puppy right through to advanced gold level, and we also do online dog training.

DogCast Radio News

Lots of positive news, starting with new legislation in Delaware, USA, to prevent dogs being tied up outside for extended periods of time, and the sniffer dogs in Hampshire UK who are helping to thwart drug gangs. Then there's the police dog who went missing in Wales after a training exercise, and the Rottweiler who's a resource guarder - but you'll never guess what resource she guards! Plus there's the woman whose love for Bull Terriers cost her her marriage, and the dog whose love for his family cost him his wag!
