New Year's Resolutions

When Andrea Servadio found her own dog was in need of more stimulation, she not only met her own dog's needs, but she set out to provide as many dogs as she could with a happy, interesting life. The result was Fit Dog Club, which offers enrichment to dogs who might otherwise be home alone and bored.

Andrea is passionate about making sure dogs are not left alone or bored. She has numerous ideas on how you can enrich and enhance your dog's life in 2019. New Year is traditionally a time of year to take stock and resole to improve - and with Andrea's suggestions you can easily improve life for your dog. You can find our more at Fit Dog website.

We came up with this idea because we have a doggy day care and boarding facility, and we saw that some of the dogs were really smart and active, and needed more than day care - they needed more than the same thing every day.

Dare - from rescue dog to Crufts and beyond

Heather Smith and her dogs dance in championship competitions, appear in films and TV shows, and - more importantly - live in harmony together. To see Heather in action with her dogs is to see dog and human in joyful harmony - but when she took on rescue dog Dare, joy didn't seem to be on the agenda.

She was profoundly sound sensitive, she was very shut down, wouldn't come out of her cage, was absolutely terrified of my other dogs, and a couple of them just didn't know what to make of her, because they wanted to play - but oh my goodness, she was not for playing!
 - Heather Smith

Gradually, using her years of experience with dogs, and her skills and knowledge as a dog trainer, Heather helped Dare to be able to live a "normal" life. More than that though, it turned out that that shut down little dog relished being in the ring dancing. And so Dare blossomed, dancing with Heather at Crufts. You can read about their journey in the book Heather wrote, Dare's Diary, and to find out more about Heather, visit her website.
