Bristly Breaks Crowdfunding Records in Pet Category

Bristly, empowering dogs to brush their own teeth, has recently completed their Kickstarter campaign for their DIY dog tooth brushing stick, wrapping up with being over 3,000% funded. They now hold the record for the highest number of backers and the highest amount raised through crowdfunding of any pet campaigns.

With an original goal of $15,000, Bristly’s Kickstarter campaign ended with over $400,000 pledged and 10,692 backers. Through crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, They have raised over $820K, with number of backers reaching 18,021 in total.

“We feel that we are solving a huge problem! Pet Oral disease is the #1 health problem for pets, and there is clearly a demand/need for a solution,” said Petros Dertsakyan, creator and CEO of Bristly. “The success of this campaign proves that pet parents are searching for easy ways to maintain dental health.”

The vet-approved DIY dog toothbrush was 100% funded in only one day, proving consumer interest in a product that is not only easy for dogs to use, but requires no work from their human companions.

“By using Bristly and a quality pet toothpaste, we not only can improve our pet’s dental health but also give them a fun activity at the same time,” said The Pet Show’s Dr Katy Nelson.

Acting as a functional toy, the dog-centric design offers easy to hold paw pads for independent dog use. The 2-side of bristle lines clean teeth down to the gum-line while the flavored bristles promote chewing. Side nudges provide an added brushing surface for optimal brushing. With a self-dispensing toothpaste reservoir, adding toothpaste can help enhance cleaning. The Bristly brushing stick is available in three sizes to withstand even the toughest chewers.

Bristly also offers a toothpaste with a 2-in-1 benefit: Enzymatic action (kills bacteria) and prebiotics to help the good bacteria grow. The toothpaste also provides dogs with healthier teeth and gums.
