And the winner is......

Just noticed an article on the American Humane Association website, singling out films that feature animals.
It's a salute to those films who earned the Association's ‘No Animals Were Harmed’® End Credit. Much more interesting than all the analysing that goes on about who wore what at the real Oscars.

Two categories that dog lovers will enjoy are Most Poignant Movie Illustrating the Human-Animal Bond which was awarded to Marley and Me. I enjoyed the book and can't wait to see the film. Also, Best Behind-the-Scenes Rescue Story, which Beverly Hills Chihuahua won, and I can thoroughly recommend that film.

If we were giving out DogCast Radio film awards I would have some categories that the Humane Association has overlooked. For example, Dog Themed Film That Made Me Cry The Most, which would be awarded to Eight Below. Another would have to be Dog Film With The Funniest Scene, which I would give to K9, because I love the scene where the dog saves Jim Belushi's bacon in the bar in such an effective way. I also love the conversation between them where Jim Belushi asserts he didn't need the dog's help at all!

What categories would you have and which films would you award them to?

Take care,

Julie x
